The Courtyard

Our licensed site shop offers a full selection of groceries, caravan accessories, Calor Gas, Camping Gaz and souvenirs. Our nearby Devon Deli delivers fresh bread daily – the croissants are a real treat! - and we always have local free range eggs and organic milk and cream from Riverford Farm, just over the hill. Add some delicious bacon from our friend David’s farm, your morning paper of choice ready and waiting and you have all the ingredients necessary to start your day in style! Next door to the Shop is the Games Room where you can play table tennis, pool, darts, table football or just watch television if you’re not feeling energetic. If you want to go further afield our Information Room is crammed with ideas for days out, suggestions for good walks, dog-friendly beaches and the low-down on all the best local inns and restaurants. There are also features on our site wildlife, up-dates on the nesting swallows and plenty to help you identify the flowers, insects and any other wild beasts you come across during your stay!

The Orchard

The Orchard is a charming little area between the Courtyard and Buttermeadow and it shares the Buttermeadow facilities. There are sixteen grass tent pitches, six with electric hook-ups, plus a water and dustbin point. It is enclosed by old walls and Devon hedges and is ideal for younger children - there is no road and they can easily reach the shop and games room in one direction and the Buttermeadow loos or play area in the other.

Buttermeadow

Buttermeadow has been specially landscaped to provide spacious, level pitches with natural Devon hedges for privacy and a tarmac road for ease of access. All pitches in Buttermeadow are now all-weather – a gravel area to site your van and awning and a generous grass surround. They have 10 amp electric hook-up, drinking and waste water, satellite TV and a dustbin point.

The facilities block is sunny and spacious, with more than enough loos and showers for even the busiest times. There is a separate ladies’ make-up area, individual privacy cubicles, a baby wash and change room and, of course, full facilities for the disabled. The showers are generously proportioned with separate dry areas. The nearby well-equipped laundry and a washing-up building for dishes and vegetables - both with abundant free hot water - complete the luxurious facilities.

In the woods overlooking Buttermeadow the children have two adventure play areas with a Wendy House, swings, sand pit, play fort and even a living willow den for the greener children! Nearby is our all-weather tennis court and an extensive off-lead dog exercise area.

BlackRock Copse

We drew on all our experience with Buttermeadow when we created BlackRock Copse – our latest development and, we hope, the ultimate caravanning experience. There are sixty spacious, all-weather gravel pitches, each surrounded by its own grassy area, natural Devon hedging and dry stone walls. A timber-clad console houses your own drinking and waste water points, television and 10 amp electric hook-up, a chemical closet disposal point, refuse bin and low-level lighting.

The light and spacious facilities block has climate control and a heated floor for your comfort in all weathers. There are ample toilets, generous showers with separate dry areas, individual privacy cubicles, full disabled facilities and a baby bath and change room. The luxuriously equipped laundry is housed in the main block, and the attractive dishwashing and vegetable preparation building is just a short step away.

BlackRock Copse has its own woodland adventure play area and is overlooked by a lovely open hill top, ideal for flying kites, with views over Dartmoor to Haytor. Again the dogs have their own enclosed off lead exercise area.
